Gabriel Ratcliffe
My time at Clemson University has afforded me the opportunity to explore many different outlets. Throughout the last four years, I have participated in Clemson's Army ROTC Fightin' Tiger Battalion, Scabbard and Blade Military Honor Society, and the NSCS honor society. Participating in these organizations has allowed me to grow as both a leader and a student, exposing me to experiences that have shaped my discipline, resilience, and sense of purpose. ROTC, in particular, has pushed me outside of my comfort zone and taught me the value of servant leadership, while my involvement in honor societies has encouraged academic excellence and a commitment to integrity. These experiences have collectively prepared me to take on future challenges with confidence and a strong moral foundation.

Outstanding cadets in ROTC programs around the United States are recognized and developed by Scabbard and Blade, a national military honor organization. Established in 1904 at the University of Wisconsin, the group encourages aspiring officers to be leaders, professionals, and military leaders. Cadets who exhibit excellent academic standing, leadership potential, and a dedication to military service are granted membership, which is selective. Scabbard and Blade uses professional development, service-oriented projects, and mentoring to uphold the greatest standards of honor, duty, and patriotism.
